426 YOUNG ENGINEERS COMPLETE PHASE ONE OF KENYA POWER\u2019S GRADUATE TRAINEE PROGRAMME<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four hundred and twenty-six (426) Engineers have successfully completed the first phase of Kenya Power\u2019s Graduate Trainee Program, marking a significant step by the Company to strengthen its workforce for improved service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Engineers undertook a 4-month intensive classroom training at Kenya Power\u2019s Institute of Energy Studies and Research (IESR). They will now be deployed to a five month-regional field rotation program where they will apply their knowledge and skills to strengthen operations, improve response times and support the ongoing grid modernisation efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the Graduate Trainee phase one training closing ceremony, Kenya Power\u2019s Managing Director & CEO, Dr. (Eng.) Joseph Siror urged the engineers to embrace learning and commitment to service delivery, in line with the Company\u2019s aspirations to enhance customer experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI want to congratulate all our new engineers for this great milestone in their career. As a Company, we view these young talents as great ambassadors of Kenya Power and as they commence operations, I am confident that they will strengthen the Company\u2019s technical capacity to attain our strategic goals,\u201d said Dr. Siror.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 328 out of the 426 Graduate Engineers are specialised in Electrical while the rest are trained in diverse disciplines including geospatial, mechatronics, mechanical, civil engineering and ICT. Their input to the existing Kenya Power teams is expected to build a strong pipeline of professionals driving Kenya\u2019s energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They join the Company at a critical time when the customer base has expanded to 10.4 million customers, supported by growing demand for electricity and accelerated deployment of electrification projects across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo meet the growing needs of our customers, we are carrying out a lot of grid modernisation and digitisation projects.
