Magondu instrumental in driving rural road development as Ngong-Kangiria link gets major upgrade<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KERRA Director-General Eng. Jackson Magondu has been instrumental in enabling infrastructure development in rural areas, with his leadership continuing to support the expansion and improvement of road networks connecting communities to markets and essential services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His contribution to rural infrastructure development was once again highlighted as President William Ruto launched the upgrading to bitumen standard of the 22-kilometre Ngong (Kibiku)-Kangiria road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The road is expected to transform connectivity between Kajiado West and neighbouring areas of Kiambu County, opening up economic opportunities for thousands of residents who rely on agriculture and livestock keeping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project forms part of a wider network of link roads designed to improve connectivity within the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ngong-Kibiku-Kangiria road connects with other important routes, including the 7.5-kilometre Ole Montent-Riu Nderi road and the 3.5-kilometre Baboon Crescent road in Kajiado West Constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also links Kajiado West with Kikuyu Constituency through the Riu Nderi-Kangiria road, measuring 4.5 kilometres, as well as the 3.5-kilometre Riu Nderi-Gikambura road and the three-kilometre Kangiria Town road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interconnected road network is expected to ease movement between the two counties while improving access to markets for farmers and livestock keepers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For rural communities, improved roads are more than transport infrastructure. They provide a critical link between producers and markets, schools, health facilities and other essential services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upgraded road will enable farmers and livestock keepers to transport their produce more efficiently, reducing travel time and the challenges associated with poor road conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is also expected to contribute to employment creation, with local residents benefiting from opportunities generated during construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eng. Magondu has increasingly been associated with efforts to strengthen rural road infrastructure, where improved connectivity can have a direct impact on household incomes and local economic activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under his stewardship at KERRA, road development has remained an important component of efforts to open up rural areas and ensure that communities previously affected by inadequate transport networks are connected to economic opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
