Principal Secretary for the State Department of Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu CBS has reaffirmed her commitment to community empowerment after partnering with Nkuene Ward MCA Makasi Martin Gatwiri Kirimi to support groups of persons with disabilities with dairy goats in South Imenti, Meru County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative seeks to promote economic independence and improve the livelihoods of persons with disabilities by providing them with an opportunity to generate income through dairy goat farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Njogu said supporting communities, particularly vulnerable groups, remains an important part of ensuring that no one is left behind in the country’s development agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is such a joy to be able to support the community, especially to ensure that no one is left behind,\u201d Njogu said, highlighting the importance of initiatives that empower people to improve their living standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through the dairy goat project, the beneficiaries are expected to earn income from goat milk, creating opportunities for greater financial stability and self-reliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intervention also recognises the importance of inclusive development, where persons with disabilities are given opportunities to participate in economic activities and build dignified livelihoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dairy goat farming can provide a relatively sustainable source of income for households, particularly when beneficiaries receive appropriate support in animal husbandry, feeding, veterinary care and access to markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By focusing on income generation, the initiative aims to go beyond immediate assistance and provide beneficiaries with an opportunity to establish productive ventures that can support them and their families over time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
