Carolyne Kamende Daudi on Wednesday filed papers to run to be the 51st president of the Law Society of Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamende who previously served as vice president of LSK said that she is the best placed candidate to replace current president Eric Theuri when elections will be held on February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theuri was elected LSK boss after replacing Nelson Havi in March 2020 who was kicked out of the office before the end of his term in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term of the president runs for two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other vacant positions in the LSK polls include position of Vice-President, three (3) Representatives of the General Membership of LSK, four (4) Upcountry Representatives, three (3) Nairobi Representatives, one (1) Coast Representative which shall fall vacant on 25 th March, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamende who is a former legal assistant at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda vowed the champion the rights of legal practitioners in Kenya by ensuring that their welfare is enhanced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am the best candidate best of my local and international experience in practicing law,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The other candidates eying the post of LSK president include current LSK vice president Faith Odhiambo, Harriet Mboche, Peter Wanyama, and Bernard Ngetich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kamende contested for the LSK top job in 2022 but lost to Theuri.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
