The Nairobi Coffee Exchange (NCE), in collaboration with Solidaridad on Friday hosted a transformative coffee cupping event aimed at bridging the gap between Kenya’s small-scale coffee farmers and local and global markets. This initiative not only celebrated Kenya’s reputation for producing world-class coffee but also sought to foster transparency, efficiency, and profitability in the coffee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will presented xceptional coffee varieties cultivated by small-scale farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coffee cupping serves as a cornerstone in evaluating coffee quality, providing insights into key attributes such as aroma, flavor, acidity, and balance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This session benefitted farmers by enabling them to understanding quality metrics and better align their production to market demands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event sought to forge direct connections between producers and buyers, empowering smallholder farmers with market knowledge and highlighting how quality influences pricing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By improving access to profitable markets, including the United States and Europe, the collaboration ensures smallholder farmers benefit from transparent trading systems and robust support in:Sustainable farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, over 10,000 farmers have attained certifications, reinforcing Kenya’s position as a leading supplier of sustainable, high-quality coffee. The coffee cupping session connected farmers to opportunities, with the potential to elevate the Kenyan coffee sector to new heights of success and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
