Kalonzo Musyoka, has strongly criticized the Kenya Kwanza government, accusing it of grave human rights violations during the recent Gen Z-led protests. In a fiery address, Musyoka alleged that hundreds of law-abiding youths were killed, while others were abducted under instructions purportedly originating from State House.

“The Kenya Kwanza regime has blood on its hands,” Musyoka declared. “These youths were exercising their constitutional right to protest, yet they were met with bullets, arrests, and abductions. We demand the immediate release of all abducted youths and their safe return to their families. If any of them have been killed, the blame will squarely lie on this government.”

Musyoka condemned the silencing of dissent, calling out President William Ruto’s administration for what he described as a systematic suppression of alternative voices. “We reject Ruto’s schemes to instill fear and silence Kenyans. He must listen to the people instead of trying to break their spirit,” he asserted.

The opposition leader also criticized the state of representation in Parliament, highlighting that “thousands of Kenyans remain unrepresented,” signaling a democratic deficit under the current regime.

Looking ahead, Musyoka promised a break from the perceived failures of 2024, vowing a transformative political strategy in 2025. “The new year will not follow the same traditions of stagnation and oppression. In the coming months, we will unveil new party members and strategies to lead Kenyans in resisting the Kenya Kwanza regime,” he announced.

He ended his speech with a message of hope and resilience, urging Kenyans to reject fear and stand firm against oppression. “The people of Kenya deserve better. Together, we will chart a new path and make 2025 a year of change, accountability, and justice,” Musyoka concluded.

The opposition leader’s remarks come amidst heightened political tension and growing public discontent, signaling an intensified political battle in the months ahead.

Nairobi, December 30, 2024 – The official leader of the opposition, Hon.
