Eldohub has taken a bold step in shaping the future of education with its ongoing Training of Trainers workshop under the TechLabs Mashinani program. The initiative seeks to equip educators with the knowledge and tools to harness artificial intelligence in classrooms while fostering innovation and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her opening remarks, Eldohub Executive Director Magdaline Chepkemoi emphasized that Uasin Gishu is at the forefront of educational transformation. She noted that empowering trainers with AI skills translates into unlocking opportunities for every learner. \u201cWhen we empower trainers through AI, we unlock opportunities for every learner,\u201d she said, setting the tone for the day\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop is not just about introducing new technology but also about preparing educators to lead meaningful change in the education sector. Trainers are being guided on how AI can enhance teaching, personalize learning, and prepare students for a rapidly evolving world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon session, Katumbi Mailu from the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner led an eye-opening discussion on responsible AI use. She stressed that innovation must go hand in hand with safeguarding learners\u2019 privacy and data. From children\u2019s consent to safe handling of student records, her message was clear: AI in education can only thrive where trust and accountability are prioritized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cResponsible AI starts with protecting learners,\u201d she emphasized, reminding participants that technology must always serve people, not the other way around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key lesson from the session was that innovation means nothing if the people it is meant to serve are not protected. As schools adopt AI, issues of data privacy and child protection must remain central to the conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eldohub initiative is already sparking debate on whether schools are adequately prepared to handle student data responsibly in this new era of digital transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
