The leaders claimed that the Nairobi City County government is insolvent, citing a 2023/2024 financial year audit report that showed revenues of Ksh42.29 billion against pending bills amounting to Ksh118.32 billion — nearly three times the annual budget.

“More than Ksh120 billion has been defrauded, and hence the urgent need for a fraud audit,” Nyamwamu told the media, adding that the Office of the Auditor General should step in to recover public funds allegedly lost to looting.

The team accused both President William Ruto and Azimio leader Raila Odinga of shielding Governor Sakaja from impeachment through what they termed as “corrupt alliances” within the ODM and UDA leadership. Okoa Nairobi vowed to mobilize citizens in all 85 wards to take back control of the city from “abductors, looters, and lunatics.”

The movement outlined a series of actions, including the collection of signatures to dissolve the county government, the election of new leaders free from what they described as “blood-based politics,” and the formation of Citizens Accountability and Service Delivery Committees across Nairobi.

“We shall immediately consult Nairobians in all the 17 constituencies and 85 wards on the need to collect signatures to dissolve the county government. It is time to send the Governor, his deputy, and all the MCAs home,” their statement read in part.

The group also rejected reported plans by President Ruto and Raila Odinga to amend the Constitution before 2027, calling instead for the faithful implementation of the 2010 Constitution and a National Constitutional Conference after the next general election to review and refine the law through a referendum.

Nyamwamu called on Kenyans to unite against alleged cruel looting of our Nairobi City and the country at large, urging voters to register, organize, and reject both ODM and UDA in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

“The time for Sakaja to go is now. If one does not support the dissolution of the looting machine, then that individual is a beneficiary of the looting,” Nyamwamu said.

A political storm is brewing in Nairobi after the Kenya Bora Tuitakayo (KBT) Movement and…

[1

post-7146","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
