Titled “Arise, Awake, For Your Time Has Come,” the statement follows an intense two-day Executive Committee convention in Limuru, mapping out a direct defense of the nation’s democratic future ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The NCCK laid bare a grim reality of deep moral and socio-economic breakdown, driven heavily by over-taxation, a hostile business landscape, and the disastrous failure of the Social Health Authority (SHA/SHIF) transition that has stripped Kenyans of affordable healthcare.

The church explicitly warned politicians against using these artificial hardships to buy desperate voters with cheap financial handouts.
Crucially, the council sounded an alarm over the “immoral and diabolical” deployment of hired goons to disrupt protests and desecrate holy spaces, such as the recent invasion of All Saints Cathedral.

Issuing a fierce warning, the church challenged the Inspector General of Police to go after the political financiers behind this violence, stating he will be held personally liable for systemic security failures.
Yet, amidst the warnings, the church offered a message of immense hope to the younger generation.

Vocally praising the Gen Z movement for courageously demanding government transparency, the NCCK declared that young people bear a historic responsibility to shape Kenya’s destiny.

The statement forcefully condemned the police’s excessive use of force, killings, and abductions targeting peaceful demonstrators, while calling on the youth to register masse to vote and seek elective offices.
To ensure the church remains a sanctuary of truth, the NCCK also introduced ironclad restrictions completely banning political campaigns, hate speech, and flashy, influence-buying fundraisers from the pulpit. Signed on June 25, 2026, the letter stands as an uncompromising mandate for an authentic, fair, and accountable Kenya.

NCCK General Secretary Canon Chris Kinyanjui (second right) follows proceedings during a media briefing in…

[1

post-9614","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
