Moiben MP Prof. Phylis Bartoo Champions Women’s Leadership and Inclusive Governance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Moiben Member of Parliament Hon. Prof. Phylis Bartoo<\/strong> has reaffirmed her commitment to advancing women’s leadership and ensuring more women occupy decision-making positions, following her participation in the launch of the Women Political Leaders (WPL) Kenya Cohort<\/strong>, an initiative spearheaded by the Kenya Women Parliamentary Association (KEWOPA) in partnership with Women Political Leaders (WPL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The forum brought together women parliamentarians from across the country to strengthen collaboration, shape progressive policies and promote inclusive leadership that reflects the aspirations of all Kenyans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussions focused on key issues affecting women in leadership, including increasing women’s political participation, ending violence against women in politics, strengthening engagement with political parties, combating misinformation and AI-enabled disinformation, supporting aspiring women leaders through mentorship and campaign preparedness, promoting health equity, economic empowerment, digital transformation and enhancing collaboration between national and county governments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Bartoo underscored the importance of creating an enabling environment where women can lead, compete and excel without discrimination or intimidation. She emphasized that inclusive leadership strengthens governance by bringing diverse perspectives to decision-making and delivering better outcomes for society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The leaders also called for stronger legislative and policy interventions to enhance the safety of women leaders, improve electoral security, strengthen institutional accountability, promote evidence-based policymaking and increase women’s representation in both elective and appointive positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Bartoo remains a steadfast advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. Through her legislative work and participation in national and international platforms, she continues to champion policies that promote equal opportunities, protect the rights of women and inspire more women to take up leadership roles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her unwavering commitment reflects the belief that a more inclusive democracy is built when women are empowered to participate fully in shaping the nation’s future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
