NCA Rolls Out Nationwide Construction Training Under Susan Rutto’s Leadership

The National Construction Authority (NCA), under the leadership of Acting Executive Director QS Susan Rutto, has rolled out free onsite training and career mentorship programmes targeting construction workers, site supervisors and students pursuing construction-related courses across the country.

The initiative is part of the Authority’s capacity-building mandate, aimed at strengthening regulatory compliance, improving construction quality and safety, enhancing technical competencies and bridging knowledge and skills gaps in the industry.

The free training programmes kicked off this week in the Kiambu and Kajiado regions and will be extended to all 14 NCA regions through June 2027.

Through the initiative, the Authority seeks to equip construction workers and emerging professionals with practical skills and knowledge to promote safer worksites, improve industry standards and encourage compliance with established construction regulations.

The career mentorship component will also provide students pursuing construction-related courses with valuable guidance to help prepare them for professional practice and the demands of the industry.

Under QS Susan Rutto’s leadership, the programme underscores NCA’s commitment to developing a skilled and competent construction workforce while promoting quality, safety and professionalism across Kenya’s built environment.

By taking training directly to construction sites and engaging learners, the Authority is seeking to make capacity building more accessible while supporting continuous professional development and sustainable growth in the construction sector.
