Principal Secretary State Department of Shipping and Maritime Affairs Geoffrey Kaituko has taken a moment to wish Kenyans citizen a happy Jamhuri Day. “Let us remember the heroes who sacrificed their lives to give us the freedom we are enjoying today” Happy Jamhuri Day!.Jamhuri Day is one of the most important national holidays in Kenya, formally marks the date our country became a republic.Today, in an auspicious ceremony to be led by His Excellency President Dr. William Ruto Kenya commemorates 61 years of being a republic, following independence in 1963.PS Kaituko observed that “Our independence is a testament to the strength and resilience of every Kenyan who fought for the freedom we now enjoy. May we honor our freedom fighters with unity and progress.
