The Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) is scaling up efforts to enhance the integrity and efficiency of the country’s qualifications verification systems through strategic partnerships with technology innovators.
KNQA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Alice Kande, on Tuesday led a consultative meeting between the Authority and Cazini, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)–based verification solutions company, to explore collaborative approaches aimed at strengthening the verification of academic and professional qualifications.
Dr. Kande noted that the partnership discussions are part of KNQA’s broader commitment to leveraging technology to promote transparency, credibility, and trust in Kenya’s qualifications framework.
“As an Authority, we remain committed to ensuring that all qualifications issued and recognized within Kenya meet the highest standards of authenticity and quality. Technology offers us a great opportunity to streamline verification processes and safeguard the integrity of our education system,” said Dr. Kande.
Under her leadership, KNQA has continued to champion modernization and stakeholder collaboration across the education and training sector — positioning Kenya as a regional leader in qualifications management and recognition.
Her proactive approach and visionary leadership have seen the Authority implement key reforms, including digital verification systems, stakeholder engagement frameworks, and cross-border recognition of qualifications within the East African Community and beyond.
“Dr. Kande’s stewardship continues to drive KNQA’s transformation agenda, ensuring that Kenya’s qualifications framework remains robust, credible, and globally competitive,” read a statement from the Authority.
The engagement with Cazini marks yet another step in KNQA’s ongoing efforts to align its systems with emerging global best practices in verification, data security, and digital identity management.
