Naivas Expands Footprint with Opening of 114th Store in Ruaka
Naivas Supermarket has today opened its 114th store in Ruaka, marking another milestone in the retailer’s steady expansion and reinforcing its commitment to delivering affordable, quality shopping to Kenyan families.
The new outlet strengthens Naivas’ presence in Kiambu County and comes at a time when Ruaka is emerging as one of the fastest-growing residential and commercial hubs within the Nairobi Metropolitan area. The opening reflects the retailer’s strategy of aligning its growth with neighbourhood-led urban development while remaining closely connected to the communities it serves.
Naivas says the Ruaka store embodies its core promise of value, quality, variety, fresh produce and convenience, all delivered in a modern, customer-friendly environment. Beyond retail, the outlet is expected to contribute to local economic activity through job creation and support for small and medium enterprises within its supply network.
Speaking during the opening, Mr. Cyrus Mathenge, Head of Store Operations at Naivas, said the new branch was designed with customers at its centre.
“Our focus is always on the customer, ensuring consistent value, quality, convenience and efficient service every day. The Ruaka store brings this commitment to life, while also creating jobs and supporting the local economy,” said Mr. Mathenge.
Naivas’ expansion has been anchored on close collaboration with local manufacturers and suppliers, a model the retailer says has enabled it to grow sustainably while promoting Kenyan enterprise.
Mr. Javin Hutchinson, Chief Executive Officer of Bake Easy, welcomed the opening as a boost to local manufacturers.
“Naivas is a retailer that truly believes in partnership. Their growth directly supports local manufacturers like us, allowing Kenyan-made products to reach more households. The Ruaka store is another step forward in strengthening local supply chains,” said Mr. Hutchinson.
The Ruaka branch offers a wide assortment of groceries, fresh produce, bakery items and household essentials, reinforcing Naivas’ position as one of the country’s leading retail chains while deepening its promise of everyday value for Kenyan families.
