Zimbabwean-born entrepreneur and investor Dr. Edd Branson has launched a Swahili edition of his new book, The Business of Art, as he expands investments into Kenya and the wider East African creative economy.
Published by Edd Branson Publishers, the book targets artists, creatives and entrepreneurs, offering guidance on turning creative talent into sustainable businesses.
Branson, who has invested in creative industries across Eswatini, Zambia, the United States and Jamaica, said he now sees Kenya as a key growth market because of its digital economy, mobile money ecosystem and expanding creative sector.
“Talent alone is not enough. Artists must understand the business of art,” said Branson.
Through his investment network, Branson has begun backing Kenyan companies and startups, focusing on the creative, technology and financial services sectors.
Business analysts said Branson’s expansion into Kenya could encourage more international investors to explore opportunities in East Africa’s creative economy, a sector that has received limited attention from traditional investors.
Branson has built a reputation for supporting projects that strengthen creative industry value chains while helping artists and entrepreneurs develop sustainable enterprises.
The Business of Art is available through Edd Branson Publishers and aims to help creatives build businesses around their work rather than rely solely on artistic talent.
