Gilbert Masengeli on Monday took over as the new Deputy Inspector General of Administration Police Service (APS).
Masengeli succeeds outgoing acting Deputy Inspector General James Kamau who was serving the same position in acting capacity.
The event took place at Jogoo House where the incoming DIG inspected a new guard of honor.
Masengeli said that the he will prioritize the safety of lives and property of all residents in Kenya by ensuring that all security agencies collaborate.
The ceremony highlighted the importance of seamless leadership transitions within the NPS to ensure continuity and stability. As the new DIG, Masengeli is expected to lead with transparency, accountability, and a focus on modernizing the Administration Police Service to meet evolving security challenges.
