The People’s Liberation party (PLP) has endorsed flag bearer Hon.Martha Karua as the sole presidential
Candidate .
In a landmark Special National Delegates Conference (NDC)meeting held at the Ufungamano house, delegates and members unanimously endorsed Karua to represent the party.
“This moment marks a bold step in PLP’s mission to liberate Kenyans from poor governance and usher in a true and efficient leadership.”Hon Karua noted.
Hon. Karua, a seasoned leader and staunch defender of constitutionalism, justice, and democratic governance, will spearhead PLP’s campaign under the rallying banner: “Unite. Liberate. Transform.”
To strengthen its preparedness for governance in 2027, the Delegates Conference ratified major resolutions, including Creation of three Deputy Party Leader Positions – ensuring inclusivity, shared leadership, and strong coordination across regions and sectors.
The delegated formed a 16-Member Shadow Cabinet – designed to mirror key government ministries and provide proactive, people-driven policy alternatives.
“This will serve as a government-in-waiting, engaging Kenyans with clear solutions to pressing national challenges.
These resolutions reaffirm PLP’s identity not just as a political party, but as a movement of liberation and transformation.
By endorsing Hon. Karua, unveiling a Shadow Cabinet, and creating Deputy Party Leader positions, PLP declared itself ready to lead Kenya in 2027 with integrity, competence, and vision.
In her acceptance remarks, Hon. Karua said“This is about About mothers who want their children to dream again. About the youth who demand dignified work. About millions of citizens who yearn for a government that serves, not exploits. Let this conference be remembered as a clarion call”
“Together, with humility in our hearts and unity as our shield, we shall not merely contest an election—we shall reclaim our nation.”she noted.
The delegate meeting was graced by former vice presidents Hon.Rigathi Gachagua,Hon Kalonzo Musyoka,Hon Justin Muturi,Mithika Linturi,Danson Maanzo among others who vowed to rally behind the opposition.
