The Principal Secretary, State Department for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline Njogu, has lauded the intellectual and professional contributions of Kenyans living abroad, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening engagement and collaboration with the Kenyan Diaspora.
During the Global Ageing Network Conference held in Boston, Massachusetts, the PS was presented with a copy of a book authored by Mr. Danson Mukile (@dansonmukile), a member of the Kenyan Diaspora in the United States. The book, titled “The Diaspora Power Playbook,” explores the diverse roles, opportunities, and potential of diaspora communities in driving global development.
The presentation took place on the sidelines of the conference, where Ms. Njogu participated in a high-level panel discussion themed “International Perspectives: Creating Pipelines for Foreign-Born Workers.”
“The Kenyan Diaspora continues to be a vital pillar in our nation’s development. We take pride in their intellectual contributions and remain committed to building meaningful partnerships that harness their skills, knowledge, and innovations,” said PS Njogu.
The exchange symbolized the government’s ongoing commitment to recognize and celebrate initiatives by Kenyans abroad, while advancing strategic collaboration—particularly in areas of skills transfer, investment, and expertise exchange.
Under PS Roseline Njogu’s visionary leadership, the State Department for Diaspora Affairs has witnessed phenomenal growth, expanding its networks, enhancing diaspora engagement frameworks, and improving service delivery to Kenyans living and working overseas.
Her efforts have notably strengthened Kenya’s global presence and reaffirmed the government’s recognition of the diaspora as a key development partner in the realization of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA).
