Rarieda Member of Parliament, Hon. Dr. Otiende Amollo, SC, CBS, has expressed deep humility following his conferment with the prestigious national honour of Chief of the Burning Spear (CBS).

Hon. Dr. Amollo is a three-term legislator, having been first elected to represent Rarieda Constituency in 2013 and successfully retaining the seat in the 2017 and 2022 General Elections. Over the years, he has built a distinguished parliamentary record marked by strong legislative leadership and commitment to constitutionalism.

Between 2013 and 2017, he served as a member of the Committee on Regional Integration, the Departmental Committee on Health, the Procedure and House Rules Committee, and the Committee on Delegated Legislation. From 2017 to 2022, he continued his service on the Committee on Delegated Legislation and also sat on the Committee on Appointments. In 2020, he served as the Vice-Chair of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee.

In the current Parliament, Hon. Dr. Amollo has continued to shape Kenya’s legal and governance landscape, including sponsoring the Constitution of Kenya (Amendment) Bill, 2025, reflecting his enduring commitment to constitutional reform and the rule of law.

Beyond Parliament, he is widely respected in his home constituency for spearheading the expansion of education infrastructure and championing initiatives that uplift social welfare, improving the quality of life for the people of Rarieda.

The conferment of the CBS honour recognises his exemplary public service, legislative excellence, and dedication to the advancement of Kenya’s democratic institutions.
