Stakeholders and the well privileged citizens have urged the government to protect the less privileged from social evils in the society.
Addressing a well attended meeting on the issues of gender equality, sexual abuse and challenges affecting the less privileged students at the Kenya Institute of special needs (K.I.S.E),World bank representative Dkt.Joan Mwende urged rape victims and other negative behaviour to report them to the police and security agents.
She said some of the parents and victims were afraid to report the offenders because of victimization and lack of adequate evidence to prosecute them.
” Some of the parents fear to report the offenders due to victimisation, lack of adequate evidence and others fail to take up the matter because of their health condition.” She noted.
The stakeholders appealed for Unity and co-operation between the affected families, the police and security Agents.
