Edith Nyenze Calls for Environmental Conservation on Mazingira Day
Kitui West MP Edith Vethi Nyenze has called on residents to embrace environmental conservation and take collective responsibility for protecting natural resources for the benefit of present and future generations.
In her Mazingira Day message, Nyenze emphasised the importance of tree growing, protecting water sources and maintaining clean surroundings as key steps towards building a healthier and more sustainable environment.
She noted that the choices Kenyans make today will shape the environment inherited by their children, urging communities to adopt responsible practices that promote environmental protection.
“Every tree planted, every piece of land protected and every effort made to keep our surroundings clean brings us closer to a healthier, greener and more sustainable future,” she said in her message.
Nyenze underscored the need for residents to work together in preserving the natural environment, noting that conservation requires sustained commitment beyond annual commemorations.
She also encouraged residents of Kitui West to take an active role in protecting the environment, including nurturing trees, conserving water resources and keeping their neighbourhoods clean.
The MP said collective action would help create a greener and healthier constituency while safeguarding natural resources for future generations.
“Together, let us make Kitui West greener, one tree and one responsible action at a time,” she said.
Mazingira Day serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental stewardship and the need for communities to support initiatives that promote sustainability and protect the country’s natural heritage.
