Naivasha Maximum Prison today hosted Attorney General Hon. Dorcas Oduor, Chairperson of the Power of Mercy Advisory Committee (POMAC), along with committee members. They were received by Commissioner General of Prisons Patrick Aranduh, CBS, and other senior prison officials.
The visit, part of a three-day tour of correctional facilities, aims to hear inmate petitions and prepare a report for possible presidential pardons by H.E. Hon. Dr. William Ruto. Hon. Oduor reaffirmed the government’s plan to establish 47 legal aid offices nationwide, each with a POMAC officer, and highlighted the role of AI in enhancing justice and correctional systems. She also toured the Prisons Showroom before chairing a session with POMAC members. Commissioner General Aranduh noted ongoing reforms under Cap 90 and thanked the AG for her landmark first visit to a correctional facility in her new role.
