Activist Bonface Mwangi warned to desist from confusing members
By Fred Maingi
Activist Bonface Mwangi has been warned to desist from confusing member in the Ukweli party.
The party members said they will not accept further divisions adding that the party still remains intact.
However, efforts to bring the party together has been hampered by Mwangi and his cronies who have tried to unilaterally abrogate unto themselves illegal powers as part of an attempt to hijack the party and sell it to the highest bidder.
“It is now a month since we exposed some of the illegalities behind the so-called National Delegates Conference (NDC) that this renegade faction within Ukweli Party was trying to convene through an open letter to the general membership of the party.
These renegades ,noted Sungu Ayoo who is president of the party, said they will not entertain him to rock the party, under the leadership of one Boniface Mwangi.
Mwangi has in these past weeks engaged in several illegalities including illegal and immoral acts.
Mwangi is accused of convening the so called National Delegates Conference (NDC) on 12 June 2026 without the knowledge of some members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party despite the fact that it is the NEC that calls for an NDC
They noted that the Deputy Secretary General, Mulingwa Nzau, was for instance not invited to any meeting that arrived at a resolution to call for the NDC.
The Party chair, Nduko O’ Matigere, resigned his position after discovering that his signature had been used without his knowledge in the newspaper advertisement that called for the NDC.
Unilaterally they re-constituted the National Elections Board (NEB) of Ukweli Party in the weeks leading to this particular NDC so as to influence the outcome of internal party elections not wish not to engage in a fair and principled democratic process guided by the party
The group is further accused of Doctoring a delegates list for the National Delegates Conference with an intention to influence the outcome of internal party elections.
The delegates list for this sham NDC was prepared in secret and availed to a few aspirants while remaining hidden from other aspirants because delegates from branches deemed as their strongholds had not been invited to the NDC
“Many legitimate party members and representatives of party branches were barred from accessing the venue of the sham NDC, while those who managed to access the venue were denied their right to vote.
Most of the ‘delegates who were allowed to access the venue of this illegal NDC and who voted are not known to legitimate party members and party branches.
Some of these strangers were registered for party membership within this past month, while others were procured from Jevanjee Gardens in the morning of 12 June 2026, which was the day of the NDC, and registered as party members at the doorstep of ufungamano House.
In attendance were Mark Amiani(Generali),John Mulingwa(Garang) who is the Deputy secretary) and Asha Kathsmbi who is a member.
The members noted with disgust that the party constitution clearly States that branch officials must have been members of the party for at least 6 months.
