Kenya Railways is proud to announce the ongoing development of the Nairobi Commuter Rail (NCR) network as part of the Nairobi Metropolitan Transport Master Plan. The ambitious project, supported by a Ksh 65 billion World Bank pledge, aims to transform commuter experiences by modernizing key lines, upgrading stations, and introducing an exclusive Premium Class service on the Madaraka Express.

The NCR network spans a total of 139 km, covering four major lines: Nairobi Kikuyu, Makadara Ruiru, Nairobi Konza, and Makadara Embakasi Village.
