Women’s empowerment holds the key to uplifting families and transforming entire communities, Principal Secretary for Labour and Skills Development Shadrack Mwadime has said.
Speaking during a fundraising meeting in support of Taita Taveta Muslim women groups, where he was the chief guest, Mwadime emphasized the critical role mothers play in shaping society. He noted that while men have an important position as heads of households, the influence of women—particularly in addressing challenges facing the youth such as drug abuse and early pregnancies—remains unmatched.
Mwadime urged mothers to remain steadfast in supporting the girl child, stressing that educating girls is the surest path to empowerment and a stronger, more resilient future for communities.
The event was also attended by Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime.
