Nairobi South B MCA Waithera Chege has congratulated Advocate Wanjiku Maina following a major legal triumph at the Supreme Court in a case involving 174 acres of land within LR No. 71/7 in Nairobi.
The case, which has progressed through multiple courts, centred on the critical question of who rightfully owns the contested land. In its verdict, the Supreme Court ruled decisively that the land belongs to the public—bringing an end to a long-standing dispute with significant implications for land governance and public interest.
MCA Waithera Chege hailed Adv. Maina as a resolute and incorruptible legal mind whose commitment to justice is unwavering.
“This is another incredible win before the Supreme Court, achieved against all odds,” Waithera noted. “Advocate Wanjiku Maina stands out as one of the few lawyers who cannot be compromised. Even in cases where the county might not be keen on winning, she delivers victory grounded in law and integrity.”
Waithera reiterated her own commitment to safeguarding public land and combating land grabbing in South B, noting that such decisive rulings strengthen the ongoing fight against land cartels. She emphasized that her office will continue partnering with ethical legal professionals, community groups, and enforcement agencies to protect public spaces, secure community assets, and ensure that no parcel of public land is lost to fraudulent schemes.
The ruling is expected to strengthen public confidence in ongoing efforts to safeguard public land and promote accountability in land administration.
