The Executive Director of the National Construction Authority (NCA), Eng. Maurice Akech, has released a heartfelt Jamhuri Day message, paying tribute to Kenya’s freedom fighters while celebrating the nation’s continued progress—particularly in strengthening safety and standards within the construction industry.

Eng. Akech honoured the sacrifices of the men and women whose courage delivered Kenya’s independence, reminding citizens that the freedoms enjoyed today were secured through resilience, unity, and an unwavering belief in a better future.

“As we mark Jamhuri Day, we honour the brave men and women whose sacrifice secured our independence and shaped the destiny of our nation. Their courage reminds us that Kenya’s strength lies in our unity, our shared values, and our belief in a better tomorrow,” he said.

He noted that the fruits of freedom are built on decades of sacrifice, urging Kenyans to safeguard the nation’s progress by embracing responsibility, patriotism, and a continued commitment to national development.

Eng. Akech also took the opportunity to acknowledge the transformative strides made in the construction sector this year, particularly the unveiling of the National Building Code 2024, a landmark framework designed to enhance safety, quality, and compliance across the country.

He extended his gratitude to Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Mr. Felix Koskei, Cabinet Secretary Hon. Alice Wahome, Principal Secretary Joel Arumonyang, as well as the Board, management, and staff of the NCA for their steadfast support and contribution to this achievement.

“Our collective efforts have culminated in the launch of the National Building Code 2024, a major step forward in enhancing safety and standards within the construction industry. I sincerely thank Mr. Felix Koskei, CS Hon. Alice Wahome, PS Joel Arumonyang, and the NCA Board, management and staff for their unwavering support and commitment to transforming the sector,” he said.
