Malkia Strikers receive massive boost of US $100,000 from I.O.C

Malkia Strikers-the Kenya National volleyball team got a major boost in their preparations for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament after receiving a massive cheque of US $ 100,000( Approximately 13m scholarship from the International Olympic committee(IOC) solidarity fund .
The sponsorship comes at a time Kenya is celebrating it’s 19th position in the world Ranking .
Currently the National team is the highest Africa ranked team in 21st place globally with 158.49 points followed by Cameroon in 45th place with 76.72 pts.Egypt are third with 46.
O9 pts in Africa .

Paul Bitok who is the first deputy president of the Kenya Volleyball Federation(KVA) lauded the IOC and the Government for facilitating the teams training and travelling logistics.
Receiving the cheque at the Nyayo Basketball court,Bitok thanked John Ogolla,the secretary of the National Olympic committee of Kenya and the Government
for the sponsorship.
“We are delighted with the handsome sponsorship which will help us in our preparation, purchasing of our Air tickets and other logistics” he noted.

Malkia Strikers coach Geoffrey Omondi said with the Government support and good preparations from NOC-K,the teams future looks very bright.
