
Ministry of Health Explores Collaboration with Fujifilm–Sciencescope to Strengthen
Endoscopy ServicesNairobi, KenyaThe Head of Nursing and Curative Services, Dr Andrew Toro, today received a Fujifilm–Sciencescope delegation led by Mr Hirotaka Michiba during a courtesy call held at Afya House, Nairobi, on behalf of the Principal Secretary for Medical Services, Dr Ouma Oluga.During the meeting, Dr Toro underscored the importance of timely and strategic partnerships in advancing healthcare delivery, noting that collaborations anchored on innovation and capacity building are critical to strengthening Kenya’s health system.“Strategic partnerships play a vital role in promoting innovation, enhancing skills transfer, and improving the quality and accessibility of healthcare services,” Dr Toro said.Discussions focused on exploring potential areas of collaboration, with particular emphasis on strengthening endoscopy services across the country. The engagement provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, identify priority intervention areas, and lay the foundation for future cooperation aimed at improving diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcomes.Also present at the meeting was Dr Anthony Kamau, Acting Director of Clinical Services at the Kenya University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH).The Ministry of Health remains committed to fostering partnerships that support technology adoption, skills development, and improved service delivery in line with national health sector priorities.ENDS
