KEMSA Commends Nurses and Midwives for Returning to Duty

KEMSA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Waqo Dulacha Ejersa has commended the Kenya National Union of Nurses and Midwives (KNUNM) for calling off the nationwide strike and returning to duty, describing the decision as a significant step towards restoring essential health services across the country.

On behalf of the entire KEMSA team, Dr. Waqo expressed heartfelt gratitude to nurses and midwives for choosing dialogue and putting the needs of patients at the centre of their decision.

He noted that nurses and midwives remain indispensable to Kenya’s healthcare system, providing critical services to patients and families across the country. Their return to work will help restore continuity of care and strengthen service delivery in health facilities.

Dr. Waqo said the decision also creates an opportunity for stakeholders to deepen dialogue and work together in addressing challenges affecting the health sector.
