TECNO Unveils Phone With Industry-First 0mm Display Border

TECNO has unveiled a next-generation concept smartphone with what it describes as an industry-first 0mm display border, removing the visible black edges traditionally found around smartphone screens.

The device was showcased at IFA ShowStoppers 2026 in Berlin, where TECNO presented a range of new smartphones, laptops and connected devices as it pushes further into futuristic device design and flexible computing.

The Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone eliminates the physical black edges between the active display and the outer frame, creating a screen that appears to run directly to the edges of the device.

According to TECNO, achieving the design required changes to the phone’s display architecture, including advanced internal stacking, structural engineering and new screen-packaging techniques.

The company said the result is intended to provide a more immersive viewing experience for activities such as watching videos, gaming, photography and everyday browsing.

However, the futuristic handset is not yet a commercial product. TECNO said the device is a concept phone and is not currently available for purchase, with no confirmed launch market or release date.

The technologies developed for the concept, including camera integration, touch sensitivity, sound, structural design and user-interface interaction, are expected to inform future generations of TECNO devices.

The company also used the Berlin showcase to introduce the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series, its first laptop range featuring a 360-degree hinge and touchscreen support.

The series includes the MEGABOOK T15 360 and T15 360 Pro, which can be used in laptop, tablet, tent and stand modes. Both models have 15.6-inch touchscreens, while the Pro version features a 2.5K 120Hz display and 100 per cent sRGB colour coverage.

Other laptops showcased included the MEGABOOK K15S WCL, aimed at students and early-career professionals, and the 17.3-inch MEGABOOK T17 Ultra, designed for users seeking larger displays and higher processing power.

On the smartphone side, TECNO displayed the POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition and the CAMON Slim 5G.

The POVA 8 Pro 5G combines the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G platform with TECNO’s P1 Graphic Chip and a 5K IceShield Vapor Chamber Cooling System, while the CAMON Slim 5G targets mobile photography users with a 6.39mm-thin body and AI features.

For Kenyan consumers, TECNO said the products showcased in Berlin reflect the growing demand for devices that can support work, study, content creation and entertainment.

However, the company cautioned that Kenya-specific prices, launch dates and retail availability have not been confirmed.

TECNO said it will issue separate communication once details for the Kenyan market are finalised.
