UDA Pledges Clean Politics in the Run-up to 2027 General Elections
The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially issued nomination certificates to its aspirants during a ceremony held at Hustler Plaza in Nairobi, marking a key step in the party’s preparations for upcoming electoral contests.
The exercise brought together aspirants from across the country, alongside senior party officials who presided over the issuance of certificates. The event signals the transition from internal party processes to full-scale campaign activities.
Speaking during the ceremony, party secretary general Hassan Omar emphasized the importance of unity and discipline among candidates, urging them to uphold the party’s values and focus on issue-based campaigns. He noted that the nomination process was conducted within established party structures, aligning with ongoing grassroots electoral activities that have taken place in recent weeks. The aspirants who received certificates expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and pledged to engage voters at the grassroots level. Many described the milestone as a formal endorsement that now allows them to actively seek elective positions under the party ticket.
The event, held at the party’s headquarters on Ngong Road, was characterized by heightened activity and mobilization efforts, reflecting UDA’s broader strategy to consolidate support ahead of the elections.
With certificates now issued, the party’s candidates are expected to intensify campaigns across constituencies, focusing on voter outreach and policy messaging in the coming weeks.
“We are not a party of insults and propaganda; we have proven that the people of Kenya are with us from the recent overwhelming victory in the latest grassroots mini polls,” said Omar.
“Our party leader president William Ruto has always emphasized the need for responsible politics and so we shall do whatever it takes to sell our party to the electorate and we’re confident we will carry victory come 2027.”
