Naivas rolls out Kikapu Kibonge 2026 to cushion households from rising living costs
Naivas Supermarkets has launched the 2026 edition of its flagship Kikapu Kibonge campaign in a move aimed at easing the burden on Kenyan households grappling with the rising cost of living.
The retailer said the initiative seeks to offer consistent and affordable access to essential goods at a time when consumers are facing increased spending on food, energy and transport due to inflationary pressures both locally and globally.
Dubbed “Beba Kikapu Kibonge – Value Tele, Up to 50% Off,” the campaign features curated baskets of everyday household items sold at discounted prices, allowing shoppers to stretch their budgets without sacrificing quality.
Naivas Chief Executive Officer Andreas von Paleske said the programme is designed to respond to the changing needs of consumers.
“In the current environment, value is not optional—it is fundamental.
Our focus is to reduce pressure on the household basket by improving affordability and ensuring consistent access to essential goods,” he said.
Unlike previous promotions, the 2026 campaign adopts a more structured approach, offering sustained savings across key product categories rather than short-term discounts.
The supermarket chain noted that the initiative is supported by stronger collaboration with suppliers to drive efficiencies across the value chain. These include improved supply chain management, reduced wastage—especially in fresh produce—and continued support for local producers through sustainable sourcing practices.
Naivas said the campaign reflects shifting consumer behaviour, with shoppers increasingly prioritising value, predictability and efficiency in their purchases amid tighter budgets.
The launch, held during a family fun day event, also provided an opportunity for customers to interact with the brand and experience the value proposition firsthand.
Kikapu Kibonge 2026 will be available in all Naivas Supermarkets outlets nationwide, with both in-store and digital promotions expected to support its rollout.
The retailer said it will continue to implement value-driven initiatives to enhance affordability and improve customer experience across its network.
