Mathare combined lift Kothbiro annual 46th edition at Ziwani Umeme Grounds

It’s Cheers at the Ziwani Umeme Grounds after Mathare Combined players erupted with joy after receiving the Kothbiro trophy from Makadara legislator Hon.George Aladwa.
Apart from the trophy they pocketed ksh 300,000 for the win while Kiambio Worriers finished second with a token of sh.200,000 while Mbuta FC came third by receiving sh.100,000.The tournament resumes in a matter of weeks at the Ziwani Umeme Grounds after getting assurance from three sponsors.

Coached by Reuben Ruhen,Mathare Combined FC lifted last year’s 46th edition of the annual Kothbiro soccer tournament staged at the Ziwani Umeme Grounds,Nairobi county.
The glamour event watched by a mammoth crowd was graced by Makadara legislator Hon. George Aladwa among other dignitaries.
Both teams settled for a barren draw in the normal regulation time before heading to the dreaded spot kicks.
Mathare deserved to win the tie in the normal regulation time after dominating the match which was sponsored by UNDA Bet to the tune of ksh.600,000.
The winners (Mathare Combined) pocketed sh.300,000 while second placed Kiambio Worriers got sh.200,000 while Mbuta FC went home with 100,000 for finishing third respectively .
Last year’s final was not played following sponsorship issues.The finals was rescheduled to yesterday (Saturday).

According to the tournaments cordinator Issa Musa,the next edition is set to kick off in a few weeks time.
He apologized for the delay in staging last year’s grand finale but promised a better improved edition this year since they have several sponsors in the pipeline.
“We are currently negotiating with three sponsors who are willing to come in.Im appealing to teams to start preparing for the coming tournament.This time I promise all will be well,we shall update you since at least we ave sponsors in the pipeline” Observed Issa
