Naivas Supermarket honors Kenyan fathers through nationwide customer appreciation campaign

Kenyan retail chain Naivas Supermarkets on Sunday rolled out a nationwide customer appreciation campaign to honor fathers, with senior company executives engaging shoppers in stores across the country as part of its ongoing “Kikapu Kibonge” initiative.

The Father’s Day activation took place simultaneously in more than 110 Naivas outlets spread across over 38 counties, underscoring the retailer’s efforts to strengthen ties with customers and communities.

The initiative saw senior company leaders, including Naivas Group Chief Executive Officer Andreas von Paleske, leave their offices to interact directly with fathers shopping at the stores, offering them tokens of appreciation and recognizing their contribution to families and society.

Von Paleske led one of two executive teams deployed across the country to personally engage customers, while another team comprising members of the company’s executive committee conducted similar activities in other regions.

“Fatherhood carries a quiet, daily weight that rarely gets celebrated out loud,” von Paleske said in a statement issued in Nairobi.

“Kikapu Kibonge has always been Naivas’s promise to size up the Kenyan household’s basket and its lifestyle. Today, we are extending that promise to honor the men who carry their households on their shoulders every single day, in every corner of this country,” he added.

According to the retailer, the Father’s Day engagement forms part of the broader Kikapu Kibonge campaign, which focuses on enhancing value, affordability and the overall shopping experience for Kenyan households.

The company said fathers shopping at Naivas stores on Sunday received tokens of appreciation and participated in dedicated in-store recognition activities designed to create a more personalized customer experience.

Naivas said the activation reflected its long-standing values of customer-centricity, community partnership and integrity.

“This was built to be felt by fathers in every region we serve, from Nairobi to the Coast, the Rift Valley, Western Kenya and beyond. Wherever there is a Naivas store, there was appreciation for fathers today,” the company said.

Founded in Kenya, Naivas has grown to become the country’s largest homegrown supermarket chain and continues to expand its footprint across the East African nation.

The retailer said it will continue implementing customer-focused initiatives under the Kikapu Kibonge campaign as part of its commitment to improving the shopping experience and supporting Kenyan families.
