Mwea Residents to Access Government Services Closer Home as Huduma Centre Opens

MWEA, June 29* – Residents of Mwea and neighbouring areas are set to benefit from improved access to government services following the official opening of the Mwea Huduma Centre.

Speaking during the commissioning of the facility, Mwea Member of Parliament Hon. Mary Maingi described the launch as a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to decentralise public services and enhance convenience for citizens.

The legislator said the new centre will enable residents to access a wide range of essential government services without travelling long distances, saving both time and money while improving efficiency in service delivery.

“The operationalisation of the Mwea Huduma Centre marks a new chapter for our constituency. Residents can now conveniently access vital government services right here at home, bringing efficiency and convenience closer to the people,” said Ms Maingi.

She noted that the facility reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring public services are accessible to all Kenyans regardless of their location.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by the Mwea East Deputy County Commissioner, NTSA Regional Director Eng. Charles, government officials and members of the MP’s team.

Hon. Maingi reaffirmed her commitment to championing development initiatives that improve the quality of life for residents, saying bringing services closer to the people remains central to her development agenda.

The Mwea Huduma Centre is expected to ease access to various government services, reduce congestion at centres in neighbouring towns and enhance service delivery across the constituency.
